More than anything, I commend you on your skilful use of the language. 
I haven't read the original article by Mr. Borgohain. So I didn't have the 
context. However, you are right - long term pursuit of true knowledge is getting 

shortchanged by the mad rush for cook book knowledge, degree and material 
success.
