[Assam] Back to Popular Topic - Corruption

O'Deka:
I can't speak for others, but I saw the report in ToI, and I agree with your skepticism.
I don't recall seeing the OpEd by Haren-da. I would have expected him to be curious about
how Tripura has escaped or rid herself of corruption. But I also have a low opinion of the opinions
of both the AT or the Sentinel, thus not surprised by the report, regardless of origins.
One thing I was very curious about was the recent pronouncement of MMS, the "personally
un-corrupt PM", that he or perhaps THEY will work on this "corruption" problem NOW. Why now?
Has it suddenly appeared on the scene? What prevented Delhi from looking into it for the past
half century? Was it because it was not that big a problem? Or was it because they did not care?
Or was it because they can't do anything even if they cared?
Desi governance sure works in mysterious ways, doesn't it?
