* **As we all aware that this time the flood situation in Assam made havoc.
As a responsible person, staying outside of Assam, this is our moral duty
to help our brothers and sisters. *

·         The flood situation in Assam remained alarming where more than
117 people have lost their lives either in flood water or by landslides etc.
An estimated population of 22 lakhs have been affected in the worst ever
flood in recent years causing large-scale devastation in almost all the
districts of Assam. An estimated five lakhs people have taken shelter in
relief camps and they are eagerly waiting to catch hold of any helping hand
extended to them.

·         So, in view of the above an open meeting/ discussion is being
organized at Assam Bhavan, Vashi at 6PM on Sunday,8th July/12, where, apart
from the members of the executive committee, Padmashree Jahnu Baruah and
Dy.Resident Commissioner of Assam Bhawan Sri Devashis Sharma will attend
the discussion for evaluation of modalities and give their valuable
comments.

·         You are all requested to attend the meeting/discussion and share
your constructive views.

·         Please contribute generously towards flood relief, *the cheque
may please be deposited **in favour of “The Assam Association Mumbai” either
**(1) in the A/C no. 310970533380 of SBI, Kharghar Branch or (2) Drop your
Cheque at the drop box, placed at Assam Bhawan or (3) Handover to any one
of the members of the executive committee.* In all the cases kindly send a
SMS, explaining details of your contributions to the Treasurer Shri Mridul
Saikia, Mob. No.9969228434, so that, in turn he may issue the receipt to
the individual and publish the list of the contributors in

·         In the third week of July 2012 the President of The Assam
Association Mumbai Shri Paban Kr Kotoky is planning to meet The Chief
Minister of Assam at Guwahati to handover the contribution collected from
the people of Mumbai to the Chief Ministers Relief Fund
