Dear Air:
The Survey2001 instrument is finally live, and we would value your help in
generating the snowball sample by having your classes, friends, family,
colleagues, and ultimately, doing the survey yourself. Some of the AIR
folk have been working on this for two years now, and the full advisory
board, drawing on talent from around the world, is identified on the site.

This web-based survey instrument is designed to put all that is dynamic and
fun in new media to work for us the social sciences. Please post this on
your (other) favorite lists to spread the word, and have a look at the
instrument yourself. It is currently up in English, French, Italian,
German and Spanish, so please spread the word internationally. Several
Asian languages will be added shortly.

If you are interested looking through the data set from the first iteration
of this survey, have a look at the Survey2000 website
http://survey2000.nationalgeographic.com. Over 80,000 respondents
completed this survey and the rich data covers a wide range of topics,
including Internet use, culture, mobility and social values. Eventually,
the Survey2001 data set will also be available for your use.
