Check the website of the TeNet group of the IIT 
Chennai:  http://www.tenet.res.in/press for lots of stories about the 
CorDECT version of WLL.  It will be used in a big project called SARI 
(Sustainable Access in Rural India), which is sponsored by--among 
others--MIT media lab and Harvard Center for International Development.
