Title:Director, Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Mass Communication,
full time 12-month tenure track position.

Responsibilities: The program director will supervise and provide leadership
for faculty and staff; manage the program budget, oversee recruitment of new
faculty and staff, schedule and staff courses, be involved in student
advising, act as the program's primary advocate to the dean, build and
maintain the program's standing nationally and internationally, continually
evaluate the program's quality and success, The Director will be responsible
for program administration, teaching, research, adviser, and scholar. He or
she will report to the Dean's Office in the College of Urban Affairs.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Journalism, Mass Communication, or related area,
commitment to teaching and research, strong leadership skills, ability to
mentor faculty, foster a collaborative, supportive environment,
administrative experience. Evidence of teaching effectiveness and a dynamic
research program leading to regular publication must be provided. He or she
must be tenurable at the full professor rank. 

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ACEJMC accreditation, knowledge of
information technology and new media. Evidence of successful grant writing
and fundraising is also preferred.

Position contingent upon funding. Salary commensurate with qualifications
and experience.
