++++++ INVITATION TO THE LAW VIA INTERNET CONFERENCE 2005 +++++++++
Next month the 7th 'Law via Internet' Conference will be held on
17-19 November 2005 in Port Vila, Republic of Vanuatu. The Pacific
Islands Legal Information Institute (PacLII), in conjunction with the
Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII), will host the event.
The Conference will take place on 18-19 November (with a reception on
the 17th), and we would like to invite you to attend. The Conference
website including online registration is at <http://www.paclii.org/
paclii/conference/2005/> and the Conference brochure is at <http://
www.paclii.org/paclii/conference/2005/brochure.pdf>.
The Conference is preceded by the annual meeting of the Free Access
to Law Movement on 17 November - by invitation, but please contact
the Programme Co-Chairs if you are interested in attending.
The draft conference programme is available at
<http://www.paclii.org/paclii/conference/2005/programme.html> and
includes papers by experts from 10 countries. Topics range across
issues of global access to law, new techniques for development of
online law resources, court computerisation, law libraries and the
Internet, the sustainability of free access to law in developing
countries, and commercial legal publishing online. The Conference
reception and dinner will have a Pacific theme and entertainment, and
will be memorable.
The Conference venue is the Emalus Campus at the University of the
South Pacific in beautiful Port Vila, capital of Vanuatu. Port Vila
is well known as a tourist destination and for its warm Melanesian
hospitality. It has a wide range of excellent resort-style accommodation
as well as budget accommodation. We have secured special conference
rates from a number of hotels. More information is available at:
We hope you can join us in November.
