[Air-l] The internet: a catalyst for consensus or individual thinking?

My feeling is that the real locus of social change is in the
physical social world, not in cyber space. The equal access to the
internet cannot change the concentrations of wealth and social
capital which are what really shape and restrict our social spaces.
In addition, to have a more inclusive society we must change how
bodies are perceived and restricted in the social world, and forums
such as cyberspace that leave bodies abstracted cannot change these
setreotypes and norms.
