FWIW, the book - Digital Media Ethics - is due out in February from Polity
Press -

- in the same Digital Media and Society series that includes volumes by our
AoIR colleagues such as Alex Halavais, Leah Lievrouw, Rich Ling, Jill
Walker-Rettberg, and Nancy Baym (forgive me if I missed anyone?)

While in the book I offer some discussion of Internet research ethics, I
would be quick to add that much more extensive analysis will be found in the
resources already suggested in this thread - to which I would further add:

Elizabeth Buchanan (ed.) (2004). Readings in Virtual Research Ethics: Issues
and Controversies. Hershey: Idea Group.

and Elizabeth's forthcoming chapter, "Internet Research Ethics: Past,
Present, and Future" in Robert Burnett, Mia Consalvo, and C. Ess (eds.), The
Blackwell Handbook of Internet Studies_.  (This anthology is not likely to
appear until later this year - we're hoping by IR 10.0 - Elizabeth may be
willing to share some pertinent tidbits with interested persons offlist?)

as well as the (paper only) Journal of Information Ethics.

Finally, several members of the AoIR ethics working group (chaired by
Elizabeth) - e.g., Jim Porter and Heidi Auchincloss McKee - are currently
working on projects that will only enhance and enrich this dramatically
growing body of literature even more.
