[Air-L] Voice-recorders or mobile phones for face-to-face interviews with young people?

On using the iPhone for recording of f2f interview, it can be done, but you
*must* (and I stress *must*) use an external microphone -- which plugs into
the earphone jack. As to the specific one to use, there are numerous
options. On the higher end there is a product from "Blue" which runs about
$80 (US) -

though its probably too large for your needs. Another option would be a
smaller tilting unit like this one -

can't speak on audio quality).

You might also want to look at Livescribe pen recorders, which work quite
well and are pretty unobtrusive (http://www.livescribe.com).
