Mailman is the right choice if you already own a web + mail server
under UNIX (GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, MacOS X...). 

However, setting a mailing list server for just one list may be too
much work. There are cloud-based alternatives like Google Groups or
newsletter managers like Mail Chimp that provide a REST API, SNS
integration, analytics, etc.
