Dear Kathleen,

I would highly appreciate a pdf copy of your chapter to incorporate in my teaching. Many thanks for the link you provide – it’s making me think of creative ways to teach the topic to the next academic class.

Best wishes,

Herminder

Subject: Re: [Air-L] research on memes

I also have a fairly recent chapter on Memes that deals with some of their
uses in political protest. It can be found in this book:
http://www.jstor.org/stable/10.5749/j.ctt14jxw02, but I can also send along
a PDF to anyone who is interested.

I also memes in my teaching to help students investigate some of the ways
in which memes as a visual language can be used to confront current
events. I like to ask students to work in pairs to make memes that could
be used as part of the conversation around a current issue that is
important to them. We tend to use simple websites like
https://memegenerator.net/ to generate these memes in class.

I'm taking notes on the rest of this thread as well!

Thanks,
