The 2018 CALL FOR PROPOSALS from the Association of Educational
Communications and Technology is NOW OPEN!

*The Culture Learning and Technology Division of AECT* invites you to
submit a proposal to the 2018 AECT Convention. The AECT International
Convention brings together participants from around the world, offering
practical applications, cutting-edge research, hands-on workshops, and
demonstrations of new technologies in teaching and learning. Take this
opportunity to connect with your peers! The goal of the convention is for
participants from around the world to learn from the experiences and
activities of the convention, enriching their professional lives.

This year’s convention theme is* Learning for All*. We encourage proposals
that address what may be traditionally underrepresented groups or
populations. Proposers should attempt to address this theme in their
proposals, highlighting where the proposal addresses this theme.

We are very interested in your research and practice in the field of
instructional design and technology. The AECT International Convention is a
time to recognize and celebrate the many ways we are leading in teaching
and learning.

*AECT’s mission includes promoting scholarship and best practices in the
creation, use, and leadership of technologies for effective teaching and
learning in a wide range of settings.* The AECT International Convention
provides a unique opportunity for the sharing of research and experiences
as we advance our field and promote learning opportunities for all.

The *Culture, Learning, and Technology *division is composed of AECT
members who are concerned with issues relevant to the intersection of
culture, learning, and technology. In addition, *CLT provides its members
with a professional community, opportunities to share professional
experiences, and learn from experts in the field.* We define Culture,
Learning, and Technology in the following ways:

   - *Culture* as it relates to and is defined in multiple disciplines and
   professions with particular emphases on championing inclusiveness and
   equity for the entire spectrum of human identification from individual,
   organizational, and behavioral contexts. These contexts include self
   identification as well as societal identification that may influence one's
   experience with technology and learning.
   - *Learning* that is situated in varied environments and involves
   relevant learning theories; and
   - *Technology *that demonstrates innovative techniques that support
   learning environments that illuminate elements of culture and learning.

*We seek proposals that explore relationships between culture, learning,
and technology in education, politics, economics, science, the arts,
business, and all other segments of society. *Our only requirement is that
all proposals explicitly address culture, learning and technology.

We welcome proposals that present the findings of empirical research as
well as conceptual/theoretical pieces that address the conference theme:
Learning for All.

For each conference, CLT accepts proposals for four types of presentations:
Concurrent sessions, roundtables, poster presentations, and panel
discussions.

   - *Concurrent sessions *involve research proposals - qualitative,
   quantitative, or mixed methods - and should reflect completed empirical
   research that involves the collection and analysis of data and/or
   meta-analysis of existing published research.
   - *Roundtables and poster sessions* may present practical applications
   of research in various settings or discussion of concepts relevant to the
   field. Some presenters choose one of these formats for completed research.
   - *Panel discussions *are usually professional development sessions that
   may focus on navigating graduate education or developing a career in the
   many places that employ instructional scientist. We are open to other ideas
   for panel sessions as well.
