Hi Cory,
I agree with previous answers that the university probably has some
standardized protocol for handling data (my university, for example,
demands cloud storage within their own servers, etc.) In terms of using the
data, I have found that assigning participants ID numbers is pretty
impersonal and leads to confusion, I tend to prefer pseudonyms. If a quote
or a participant could be identified even through a pseudonym (for example,
because their situation or context is very specific), I've found using
'composite' characters (where I merge two participants in one fictional
one) useful, as well as simply changing some participants' attributes (age,
location, job, etc.). Ideally, keeping it still relevant and significant
but also making it harder to trace back?
