GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) institutions play a critical role in supporting a nation's collective memory. The recent furore over funding for Australia's national archives has brought this to national attention. In this session, speakers from different institutions will reflect on:
- The role GLAM institutions in contributing to the nation in general and collective remembering in particular.
- The challenges of sourcing funding and engaging governments and publics in this process.
- The skills that professionals need to develop beyond traditional preservation and collection management.
