Two Lecturers in New Media and Digital Culture
Faculty of Humanities – Media Studies

Closing date for applications: 22 November 2021
Level of education: PhD or nearing completion
Hours: 25 hours per week
Salary indication: €2,836 to €5,211 gross per month, based on 38 hours per week

The Department of Media Studies is looking for candidates to teach in the Bachelor's and Master's programmes, especially in the track New Media & Digital Culture. The candidate(s) can also be asked to teach courses across Media Studies. The ideal candidates would have considerable knowledge of the study of New Media and Digital Culture in the humanities, especially in the areas of digital research methods and critical internet culture. They will also have demonstrable affinity with the media arts, media history, media theory and social media critique. Up-to-date web vernacular knowledge is desirable. Practical experience in working analytically with online platforms (e.g., Wikipedia, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit, 4chan, Telegram, TikTok) and web-based applications and tools (e.g., social media analytics) is also desirable.
