This is a 1.0 fte permanent lectureship in DigitalPolitics. Digital Politics is an area of growing strength for the department ofHistory, Politics and Philosophy at Manchester Met and the successful applicantwill join our expanding  team to teach units on digital politics andpolitical communication on the MA in International Relations and GlobalCommunications, the MSc Digital Society, and our undergraduate programmes.Other responsibilities will include the supervision of undergraduate andpostgraduate dissertations and acting as a personal tutor. The successful candidatefor this post will be an expert on the impact of digital technologies oncontemporary politics and/or international relations. The ability to teachquantitative research methods is also desirable, though not essential. You will hold a good first degree and a doctorate in a relevant subject area.

Situated within the Arts & Humanities Faculty, TheDepartment of History, Politics and Philosophy brings together the expertise ofover 50  academic staff. The Politics and International Relationsteam are a highly professional and collegiate group who have been proactivein establishing innovative programmes of study to serve the needs of a 300+undergraduate and postgraduate student population. Our staff have a variety ofresearch specialisms beyond digital politics including US foreign policy, theEU, political philosophy, civil society and social movement studies, energypolitics, and critical approaches to international relations.

It is expected that the post-holder will join and makea contribution to one of the Faculty's research centres, ideally theResearch Centre for Applied Social Science (RCASS). The successful candidateshould accordingly have a successful research record commensurate with theircareer stage.

The anticipated start date for the successfulapplicant is August 2022.
