I wish people would read carefully before firing off defensive emails.

Here is what I said: *I’m sorry, but I can’t imagine anyone of quality
applying to a public institution in a state with a failed Trumpster press
secretary as a governor.*

I didn't say anything about any faculty currently working in Arkansas -
whether it was their research, teaching or character.

I said that I could not imagine anyone of quality applying to a public
institution in a state with a failed Trumpster press secretary as a
governor.

First, I said "applying" - referring to a *future act*.

Second, I specified a "public institution" - referring to a place of
employment where a governor can have *direct power*.

Third, I stated "with a failed Trumpster press secretary as governor" -
referring to *exactly one person, Sarah Huckabee Sanders*. She doesn't take
office until January -- another fact that demonstrates that I was not
talking about anyone currently on a faculty.

Sanders is promising to be another DeSantis when it comes to education -
working to turn Arkansas' educational system into the envy of nobody.

So, yes, I can't think of anyone of quality who would want to apply to a
system that is doomed to decline significantly in quality.

I would also appreciate that you read carefully before sending unwarranted
criticisms.
