[Air-L] AOIR Discord?

As I sift through the long tail of this AoIR thread of the last few days -
I was literally in a cabin in the woods when the Musk deal went through, so
just catching up on emails and kitchen sinks - I would have to second the
Discord suggestion.

I'm a relative newbie to that platform - using it for AI art, NFT and ML
research - but have been impressed with the flexibility of the tools and
how servers can be tailored to support particular needs of each community.
I also like how I can be as actively present or distantly curious.
Communication tools are solid with an emphasis on latency and stability. It
was built by and for gamers <https://www.protocol.com/discord> but it's so
much more than that dna might suggest. I know a few academics who use it to
compliment their LMS sites, some notes on its pedagogical benefits here
<https://www.profweb.ca/en/publications/digital-tools/discord-an-efficient-communication-tool-for-pedagogical-purposes>.
Obviously it doesn't take much to improve on a Universtity LMS platform.

*sigh*

Nonetheless, I can imagine AoIR users really exploiting the possibilities
there. It could be set up to complement the AoIR conference and build the
community off the back of that.

/////

But also happy to jump forth into whatever virtual plot folks migrate to.

/////

Come say hello: Oldmateo#5185
