International Conference on "Innovative Paradigms in Communication & Media:
Bridging the Global Perspectives"
As part of CJMC’s Silver Jubilee Celebration
Organised by: Centre for Journalism and Mass Communication (CJMC),
Visva-Bharati – A Central University and An Institution of National
Importance in India, Santiniketan, West Bengal.
Dates: 7th - 9th January, 2025

Conceptual Framework:
The Centre for Journalism and Mass Communication (CJMC) at Visva-Bharati is
proud to host the international conference, "Innovative Paradigms in
Communication & Media: Bridging the Global Perspectives," as a tribute to
Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s vision of integrating diverse cultural
perspectives. This conference aims to foster interdisciplinary exchanges
across communication and media studies, aligned with the principles of
inclusivity, diversity, and ethical considerations. The conference will be
conducted in a hybrid mode, allowing for both in-person and virtual
participation.

Key Themes:

   1. Strategic and Indigenous Communication for Development - Exploring
   the integration of indigenous knowledge in sustainable development and
   revisiting development communication theories.
   2. Political Communication and Global Media - Addressing the media's
   role in power dynamics, conflict resolution, and global political
   landscapes.
   3. Innovations in Audio-Visual Media - Discussing emerging technologies
   like VR, AR, and AI in media production, and ethical journalism.
   4. Cultural Production and Creative Industry - Examining the role of
   cultural products and identity politics in shaping societal narratives.
   5. Gender Dynamics in Media - Analysing the representation of gender and
   the visibility of LGBTQIA+ communities in media.
   6. Digital Communication and Society - Delving into the impact of
   digital communication on public opinion, the digital divide, and
   cybersecurity.
