Greetings,
A few colleagues from the Canadian Institute for Far-Right Studies (CIFRS
<https://www.cifrs.org/>) and I are calling for book chapters for the
edited volume we're working on (titled "Alternative Truths: The Power of
Social Media and Disinformation in Far-Right Fascism"). This volume
examines how the far-right movement uses alternative media (e.g., Gab and
Truth Social) alongside mainstream platforms like Facebook and X/Twitter,
and how this impacts the public by spreading disinformation and fostering
acceptance of fascist ideologies.
Themes include (but are not limited to):
- The Role of Social Media in Far-Right Movements
- Disinformation and the Social Media Ecosystem
- Alternative Media, Social Media Algorithms, and Echo Chambers
- Alternative Media and Anti-Intellectualism
- Alternative Media and Polarizing Identities in the Far-Right Politics
- Counteracting Disinformation in Social Media
- Radicalization Theories in Digital Spaces
- Global Perspectives on Digital Media and the Far-Right
- Ethics, Regulation, and the Future of Alternative Media
