[Air-L] CfP - HICSS-59 Esports Minitrack

Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to invite you to submit your research to the Esports
minitrack, part of the Internet and the Digital Economy track at the
upcoming Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS-59). The
conference will take place January 6–9, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Resort
in Maui, Hawaii.

About the Minitrack:

Esports is a fast-growing domain that bridges gaming, technology, sports,
and digital culture. This minitrack offers a dedicated space for scholars
and practitioners to explore the dynamic world of esports, examining both
opportunities and challenges across its diverse dimensions.

We welcome conceptual, theoretical, empirical, and methodological
contributions from a wide range of disciplines. Topics of interest include,
but are not limited to:

Business & Marketing: consumer behavior, esports branding, fan engagement
Psychology & Cognitive Science: player performance, decision-making,
behavioral traits
Computer Science & IT: game telemetry, biometric data, machine learning
applications
AI & VR: smart training tools, immersive spectator experiences
Law & Ethics: copyright, anti-corruption, governance
Sociology & Anthropology: gender, identity, streaming cultures
Media & Sport Studies: comparing esports with traditional sports, broadcast
practices

This minitrack aims to further theoretical development and deepen practical
understanding of esports across disciplines.

Submission system opens: April 15, 2025
Submission deadline: June 15, 2025 (11:59 PM HST)
Notification of acceptance: August 17, 2025
Final paper deadline: September 22, 2025
Conference registration deadline: October 1, 2025
