I’m organizing a symposium on computational visual media research in Zurich

*Symposium Topic: Computational Visual Media Research*
*5–7 August 2025 | Zurich, Switzerland*

This three-day symposium aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and
methodological innovation in response to the growing role of visual content
in online communication. The symposium is free of charge, and invites
researchers from a wide range of disciplines and career stages to join us
in Zurich for an engaging exchange of ideas and practices.

*Key themes include:*

   Development and evaluation of tools for large-scale visual media analysis
   -

   Integration of theory with methodological innovation
   -

   Application of visual methods to 'real-world' issues such as political
   activism, journalism, misinformation, and hate speech

*Program highlights:*

   Hands-on workshops on innovative tools
   -

   Panel presentations on case studies
   -

   Fishbowl discussions on challenges and future directions
