[Assam] Muivah must be reminded of the domain of ToolaRam Xenapoti and Cokrodhaws Xinho’s seat in Dimapur and return of the ancient Dimasa capital to the rightful owner. Be aware! The ‘Nagalim’ ideation is India’s game plan.

Even as the Naga rebel leader, the general secretary of the National
Socialist Council of Nagaland - Isak-Muivah, Thuingaleng Muivah is scheduled
to visit Nagaland during the New Year, the banned United Liberation Front of
Asom on Monday reiterated its opposition to the Naga group's demand for a
'greater Nagalim'.
In a statement issued on the internet, chairman of ULFA, Arabinda Rajkhowa,
decried 'cosmetic protests' registered by political parties of Assam against
'greater Nagalim', which that proposes to include large parts of eight
districts of Assam.
The NSCN-IM, which is engaged in a peace process with the government of
India, in its charter of demands has a major clause called constitution of a
'greater Nagalim'.
This would be a single administrative block for Naga people living in
present states of Nagaland, neighbouring Assam, Manipur, and Arunachal
Pradesh.
The proposed map of 'greater Nagalim' includes many parts of the three
neighbouring states. All these states have registered their protest against
the proposal, though protests are more audible in Manipur than in Assam and
Arunachal Pradesh.
The ULFA chairman also criticised the government of Assam and the government
in New Delhi for overlooking Nagaland's bid to encroach upon Assam
territory.
The militant group alleged that the Nagaland government had so far set up
four administrative sub-divisions Kohobotu, Nuland, Uriamghat and Hukai
within 'Assam territory'.
The case on the decades-old boundary dispute between Assam and Nagaland is
now pending in the Supreme Court after Assam government had moved a petition
few years back seeking the intervention of the court after Nagaland
government had rejected recommendations of a boundary committee set up by
the central government.
The Nagaland government prefers an out of court settlement to the boundary
disputes while Assam government has made it clear that it would abide by
what the Supreme Court has to say about it.

GUWAHATI: The Assam-Nagaland border row has drawn Ulfa's attention. The
outfit has taken up the boundary issue. It has condemned the Assam
government and the Centre for failing to take any steps regarding Nagaland's
aggression in at least eight districts of Assam.
On the Union's proposal of giving safe passage to Ulfa leaders for holding
talks, the outfit said in a statement: The government had assured the Ulfa
that all issues will be discussed in the proposed talks. But it did not give
any written promise. The statement added that this showed the government's
insincerity in holding the talks.
Ulfa chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa said: Both Assam and the central government
is aware that Nagaland has established four subdivisions Kohbu, Newland,
Uriamghat and Hukai _ in eight districts of Assam. But they are yet to take
any action regarding this.
The outfit lambasted political parties of Assam for failing to raise the
boundary dispute issue.
On December 22, prime minister Manmohan Singh told Assam chief minister
Tarun Gogoi that if Ulfa was willing to come for talks, then the Centre
would offer safe passage to its members.
The Ulfa chairman said: The Union government has also failed to find the
whereabouts of the cadres of the outfit who had gone missing after the army
operation in Bhutan in December 2003.
Ulfa alleged that the army and police extorted money in the name of Ulfa and
harassed people in the name of anti-insurgency operations. The outfit hoped
that the new year will be successful and will bring a peaceful solution to
the political conflict between the Centre and Assam.
