  DS group signs MoU to set up school in city

 GUWAHATI, June 8 – The Dharampal Satyapal Limited (DSL) signed a MoU with the Dubai-based Global Education Management Systems (GEMS) Pvt Ltd in New Delhi on Wednesday to set up a public school in Guwahati. DSL has engaged GEMS to manage and provide the intellectual capital for running the school.

“Our association with GEMS in the field of education will act as a catalyst for bringing in world class education into the North East,” said DS Group managing director Rajiv Kumar, a press release informed. Apart from setting up the school, the Group is also setting up a law college in Guwahati offering five-year integrated course on the lines of the some premier legal institutes in the country. The Group has committed Rs 2 crore for the project.

GEMS has expertise in running 60 high quality international schools across the globe. It will frame the academic curriculum for the school and appoint the managerial and teaching staff. The DS Group will construct and maintain the school and provide the other required infrastructure, the release added.
