  Thanks for the support. I will just check up if the recruitment office is open on Sundays www.goarmy.co . I would certainly pass the written exam and then if otherwise eligible would have to go to Baltimore (about 30 miles from here) by bus to get medical tests etc done.

     It shows that after Sep 11, 2001 those who serve in US army on active duty can become US citizens. They should already be in US while enlisting -which I am atleast till June end.
      
      
     Though i would prefer to keep working in school educaton - but you never know a detour can broaden horizons. However, I may not be eligible
