Well, just on a point of information. The subject under discussion is not  
really religion but the choice of a candidate for the post of United Nations  
Secretary General. We netters do not really have a stake save that as Indians we 
 would like to see an Indian  
in that office. We do not have a choice either because it is largely a  
matter of high  
politics, and alas! none of us netters is anywhere near that heaven or  hell. 
So far I know India tried to put a senior career diplomat as the Head  of  
the Commonwealth a few years ago  but was not successful. 
Sashi Tharoor worships Ganesh. He wrote so eloquently about  the elephant God 
that  
I, a near atheist, was about to be converted.
