Hi C'da,
When you said 'Nothing' I was kinda taken aback. Of course, one does
acknowledge the contributions/influences of the invaders - some good, while
others not so good as you yourself alluded to in Bollywood movies and music.
If I am reading you correct, this 'nothing' would imply that before the
Moslem invasions, India as a country had little culture/music/language/ and
finesse to practically everything. It was the invaders who brought in their
superior knowledge and culture and taught the natives a thing or two about
the arts. And it was the Moslem influence put all these things on the World
map.

dosa, sambar and idli are wonderful. But Indian cuisine, as >the world knows
it, and modern Indians savor it, are not made up of >all those things.
Is this some divissive plot to label these as 'un-Indian' ? :-)
>Manipuri dance, Xottriya naas, Oddissi, Bharatnatyam too are >wonderful.
But Bollywood dancing won't be anything without them >invaders' decadent
influences.
And, of course, Bollywood actually represent India.
>But Bollywood dancing won't be anything without them >invaders' >decadent
influences.
So, finally, are the invaders' influences decandent and India could have
done without, or were they such that Indian art forms, architecture, music,
culture etc have received world recognition(if any) wouldn't be worth a darn
if it wern't for the invasions?
:-)
