[Assam] Delhi Srimanta Sankardeva Bhavan

Hi Manoj,

I am impressed with the photo. Did you guys in Delhi build it (or is it
rented)? It looks really good. Congratulations to the Delhi Assamese
community for setting this up and doing a great job. I am sure you hold
seminars and invite people from other communities to let them also know
about Srimanta Sankardeva and his influence in Assam.

Unfortunately, I don't think we have yet been able to setup or build a Assam
Bhavan or Center in the US. Maybe there are, but am not aware of any. Every
Bihu (or community event) we have to look for a community center or church.
Our numbers are small though.

The Gujaratis (there are of course many here) have their own center at
Houston. So do the Bengali community - they have a Durga Bari.
The Durga Bari is interesting because the Houston Bengali community bought
the land first, and then their engineers donated their expertise and time to
build/design the whole center. The parking was completed within days. Its a
huge place and looks very good, and the good part is it is debt free.
