[Assam] War and Peace

Dear friends,

On 15th October, Sunday, Door Darshan will telecast Anand
Patwardhan's famous documentary film "War and Peace" at 10:30 am. It
has faced many hurdles regarding censorship and telecast in the
national channel. The film has won the National Award for best
documentary film in 2004.

This particular film deals critically with Indian nuclear policy.
Starting with Pokaran nuclear blast (1998), the film finely exposes
the fascist & religious elements. Moreover it also talks about the
radiation emitted by the Indian nuclear plants and how the general
public is exposed to that. It has very beautifully shown the inner
politics of the arms race, which is going on between India & Pakistan
and common people's reaction to that. The three hour long film was
shot over in four countries and two continents. Different
personalities of different fields with different political & social
shades have termed this film as an epic in the history of Indian
documentary films.

I have no idea how to get hold of the film here in the UK.
Can anyone  please let me know.
