step into the corporate world. These applicants underwent the rigorous
Wipro BPO selection process. At the end of the event, the 37 exceptional
youngsters realized their dream of having a career opportunity with a

	>A significant number of aspirants who came very close to
selection criteria have been admitted for a 10 day training at Wipro BPO
Academy. Wipro will provide this training and all of these candidates
will be evaluated again after the training programme for final
induction.

	>The recruitment drive was preceded by an orientation session on
the fast growing ITES industry at the Phanidhar Dutta Memorial Hall
located at the campus. Speaking on the occasion, V Anand Kumar, Vice
President - People Supply Chain & Employee Branding of Wipro BPO, shared
insights into the Industry and put forth the career opportunities
available to dynamic and qualified persons.

	>He said, "The ITES industry today is an $8 billion industry in
India and growing at a healthy 40 per cent year-on-year. With bodies
such as NASSCOM and McKinsey rating India higher than Philippines and
the Czech Republic in terms of attractiveness as on off-shoring
destination, the growth story has only just begun. Our aim is to spread
the message and make people aware of this huge career opportunities."

	>Amarjyoti Choudhury, Vice Chancellor, Gauhati University, who
welcomed the team from Wipro BPO remarked: "Academia and the corporate

them for careers that are challenging and rewarding."

	>Kandarpa Kumar Sarma, training and placement officer, Gauhati
University, who was instrumental in putting together this mega event
said, "The University is pleased to partner with an organization that is
reputed as one of the best employers in the country and with the best

	>In October this year, Wipro BPO will re-visit the campus to
offer placement opportunities to the final year students of graduate and
post-graduate courses. Details will be available once the visit schedule

are attempting to partner at multiple levels.
