[Assam] TECHNICAL EDUCATION ASSAM

I am an alumni of Assam Engineering College. I have passed out from AEC in
the year 1989. Presently , I am working as an ASSISTANT Professor in the
Department of Computer Science & Informatics of Haldia Institute of
Technology(www.hit-haldia.net), a privately managed Post graduate level
Institute located in Haldia, West Bengal.While  studying at AEC  , we used
to feel proud to have some of the renowned teachers. Some of the teachers
are still there. Some new teachers are also coming up. But, we fell sorry to
see the state of affairs of some of the Departments like Computer Science
Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engg, newly opened Production
Enginnering etc.The number of faculties in these depatments are very few.
The web site of this college is also not having up to date information. And
inspite of this facts lots of brilliant students do join this Institute year
after year.  We  are delighted to know the statistics of campus placements
happened this year in AEC.


We urge the all concerned particulary the Assam Government to support
adequately the two state owned Enginnering Colleges, fill up all vacant
faculty positions on a war footing and bring back the glory of these two
Institute before going for establshment of new Engineering Colleges in
Assam.
