North East India Investment               Conference
26th September 2007 :: 0930 hrs. Hotel Grand Hyatt,               New York

             Ministry for the Development of the North Eastern               Region (DONER), Government of India in association with the              Confederation of Indian Industry is organizing a North East India               Investment Conference on 26th September 2007 at Hotel Grand Hyatt,               New York. This will coincide with the INDIA @ 60 event being              organized in New York as an Inter Ministerial initiative with the               support of CII to coincide with the United Nations General Assembly               Session.

The objective of the Seminar would be to provide               information on investment opportunities in the North Eastern States               of India and facilitate interactions with the representatives of  the              8 States located in the Region who will be present at the              Conference. North Eastern India has rich natural resources including               minerals, oil, coal and agro resources. There are tremendous              opportunities to develop tourism and infrastructure. This Investment               Promotion Conference will have participation by political leaders,               Government officials, institutional and industry representatives               from both North Eastern India, as well as the U.S. The Conference               would also provide opportunities for people of Indian origin based               in the U.S. originating from North Eastern India to explore              investment opportunities and establish contacts and
 linkages to              facilitate investments.

I am writing to extend a very warm               and cordial invitation to you to join us at this              Conference.

A copy of the proposed programme is              enclosed.

There are no charges for participation in the              Seminar. However, pre-registration is a must, as participation will               be on a first come first served basis.

All delegates at this               Conference will be provided a detailed report on investment              opportunities and proposals in North Eastern India.
