The Q is:
What are :
the powerful,
the resource-controllers
the money(or should I say Currency-printing) regulators
the 5-year planners
the vision-regulators
the "Science"brains-trusts
-doing about it?
Or are we supposed to get further confirmation that this Country is going nowhere
- because of the push and pull between Half-scientists and the total Quacks.

about 40 gharials (alligators) have died in the past fortnight in the chambal river. its a protected sanctuary. more than 100 little gharials were released in the chambal a month ago from the hatchery in lucknow.
interestingly and sadly of course, the gharials have died in an area where the chambal river meets river yamuna near etawah. what this means is that the highly toxic and polluted water of yamuna has been the cause of their death. upstream of this point where the chambal is untouched and pure the gharials are safe and proliferating.
preliminary reports indicate that the gharials have died of lung infection and intestinal problems, after coming into contact with polluted yamuna water.
if gharials cant survive in this water how can humans?

Pollution board to investigate Assam fish deaths Indo-Asian News Service
Guwahati, Dec 19 (IANS) The State Pollution Board in Assam Wednesday launched an investigation into mysterious deaths of thousands of fish in the Brahamaputra river after fears of toxic chemicals were expressed by fishermen.
"We have already collected water samples and some dead fish for a thorough investigation and tests," a pollution board official said.More than 1,500 dead fish were found floating Tuesday on the banks of the Brahmaputra in Guwahati, causing the people to raise a hue and cry about it. "We are trying to find out if these fish were poisoned," a Kamrup district official said. The authorities have asked the state Forensic Science Laboratory to conduct tests to find out more on the mysterious deaths. "This is something unnatural and we can be sure only after proper tests," D.J. Hazarika, a scientist at the laboratory, said.Locals in the area said water pollution in the Brahmaputra could have caused deaths of the fish. "The river is heavily polluted and we think it is because of pollution," said Gunaram Das, a fish monger in the area. The unusual incident has led the people to stop consuming fish from local markets."Business is down after yesterday's (Tuesday) incident. People are scared," said Bishnu Deka, a fish seller.Indo-Asian News Service -- Venkatesh Dutta, Ph.DLecturer (Environmental Management & Planning) School for Environmental SciencesBabasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (A Central University)Rae Bareily Road, Vidya Vihar, Lucknow – 226 025 (UP)Tel.
