*The Python ( illegal migrants) Comes of Age....*

* The Taliban was the brainchild of the US. It was a force used for
political ends by the American Government to create instabilty in certain
parts of former U.S.S.R. But after fulfulling the objective, the
organization took the shape of a radical religious fundamentalist group.
Within a span of two decades, the Taliban became a headache for the U.S.
itself.*
* Likewise, the problem of influx from neighbouring
Bangladesh is the result of the vote-bank politics of successive Congress
governments in the post-independence era. The flow of illegal migrants saw a
steep rise since the 1970s. The outcome of such myopic political strategy is
the formation of student organizations like the 'AAMSU' [All Assam Minority (?)
Students Union]and the recently formed political party called 'AUDF' headed
by Badruddin Ajmal, a person of suspicious origins. The one time small
python has come of age and is ready to gulp the Congress Party itself. If
the process of 'Delimitation of constituencies' becomes a reality, Badruddin
Ajmal would be the Chief Minister of Asam. That's because delimitation is a
sinister plot hatched by political lawyers like Abdul Muhib Mazumder who
formulated the controversial IMDT Act too which went against the interests
of Asam. It is a matter of concern that a party formed just before the
Assembly Elections bags 10 seats from different constituencies of the State.
Badruddin Ajmal is the modern day Badan Chandra Barphukan of Asam. Just as
Badan brought in the Burmese in order to help him become the Prime Minister
of Asam, Badruddin aims at bringing in more and more Bangladeshis in order
to grab the seat of the Chief Minister. At that juncture of history, the
British arrived and checked the onslaught of the Burmese. Who is to do that
now ?*
* The neighbouring hill states of Arunachal
Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Mizoram needn't feel safe just by dumping
illegal migrants into the plains of Asam. If a virtual Bangladeshi
government is formed in heartland Asam, and a road blockade is created,
there is all possibility of outbreak of famine in these states. *
* Its high time the government of Asam take up a
Mussharraf-like stand. Just as the Pakistani Army has launched stern
operations to end Islamic fundamentalism in Pakistan, so also, the Asam
government in collaboration with the Indian Army needs to flush out illegal
migrants from the state and the region as a whole.*
