[Assam] The opening ceremony

Wow! just couldn't take my eyes off the TV last night for the opening
ceremony.
Was disgusted to see the Indian contingent dress up as if they were going to
attend a wedding with those Punjabi suits and Bata chappals( be it leather
).
Couldn't the IOA( Indian Olympic Ass... ) even afford some blazers and pants
for our deserving athletes? Even SL,Pak, Bangladesh seemed more determined
and presentable.
China has shown the world what it can do. It can do better than the best. It
will take some doing to beat this awesome presentation. What was remarkable
was the fact that they stuck with their roots, their language and their
culture.
Here we are, two ancient civilizations, one( China ) heading towards
becoming a powerhouse in all spheres and on the other hand India ( with it's
"democratic", "secular" values or lack of it) having nothing to show the
world. And we keep saying ..it's only been 60 years. India has been left
back generations behind.
We will blame the politicians but they are just a representation of us in
general.
