[Assam] Invitation: Asha for Education Conference at TC Columbia Univ, New York- Sat/Sun Aug 30-31, 2008: NYC East Coast Conference

Hi,

There is a regional conference of Asha For Education , a prominent global non profit focused on South Asia ("Asha" means hope in many South Asian languages)   to be held at Teachers College, Columbia Univ, New York City during the long Labor Day weekend (Aug 30-31, 2008). 

I am going (Washington DC projects coordinator for Asha), all are welcome.

If anyone else is interested and/or who did not know about it,
 there is a fee of only $35 (includes 2 days food and materials) . You can register online at

Directions & stay: For students etc, China Town bus is only $35 round trip (both from DC and Boston). I will take that.  Youth Hostel www.hihostels.com etc might be useful.  Contacting friends  might be useful  for overnight stay.
