He made it clear that the south Indian have good presence in the power centre of Delhi so they do not face such racial behaviour. the reality is we the NE people have not. I think to tackle the situation we should think on that what actually make these Delhiaits think that we the NE Indians are not Indian.Don't you think this type of racial behaviour dates back to the epic periods when they identified us as 'Kirat' in their Epic
 and Puranas ? Don't mind, these are well respected Granth in NE as well. But, its reality that those epics were written by the Aryans to teach the world Aryan's own worldview. 
All of us will miss one important aspect of the whole attitude if we do not try to understand the whole concept of Indian Nation Building Process which started from nineteenth century.
The main components of that process was AryaAhamika ( Aryam Biswamaryam or something like that ) . Bengalis are made up of mixture of all three Mongoloid, Austral and Dravidian race. They have very little Aryan inheritance . Even though national leaders like Arvinda,Vivekanda tried to make the Indian  feel proud for their Aryan origin! They just denounced very existence of other racial group in India. 
The South Indian's are economically very strong, they made their presence felt not only in the power corridor in Delhi, even in media and entertainment industry. The Bollywood film and TV serials have big influence on Indian Nation building process in these days. Except a few film like 'Chak De India' , NE people have no presence their. If we have any these are distorted like one in 'Dil Se'. Indians according to these films and serials are mainly people of Hindi Heart land. Their festivals are Indian festival. Their language is Indian languages, Their rituals are Indian rituals. We don't have money and power like Karunanidhi or A.R Rahamans, but we may other wise make them compel to project us as Indian in these media. So that people starts to think us as Indian.
I think I have talked enough to suggest a new path to fight this evil. If needed I will talk further in my next mail.

Yes I was a bit emotion at the instant when I got this news. I was in Delhi since 2001 and there was not a single day I was safe. I was staying with  two of my younger brothers, 2 cousin sisters and 1 little sister. I was so worried about their safety.

They always think we are alien, we are helpless and we can't do anything.Ironically not a single case of molests or harrassment have been recorded to south indian girls- kerala and tamil. For they have  officials and thier leaders can eat the delhi or central governement.
 
All these while, I formed a group of people from Northern belt, from UP. Bihar, Punjab and Haryana. Some are in the Delhi Police, some are into NGOs and some from Delhi High Courts. Our mission was to have platform for our region.
 
However it was a failed attempt. I am happy that there is some forum for North East set up by Delhi government and the students body from NE states.
 
We have sent so many letters to Indian Prime Minister, our MPs, the Delhi government about this issues, and safeguarding the lives of our girls. Repeated things happen and even there will be delayed in filing FIRs and taking action.
 
We are strangers, this we cannot changed, we have tried many things, protests, dharnas and even seek help from our own leaders. All seems a failed approach.
 
Instead, the Delhi governement announced dress code for NE girls, What to wear and what to eat, where to go and what to do. Such things happens in our own country.
 
I would appreciate a forum for united North East, now we have  different fragmented  groups. In case of Manipur there might be around 5-6 groups belonging to different community. My rough calculation estimates there might be 50 or 60 different groups from our own region, which a sign of weakness. 
 
First we should unite and have a common platform, just like FASS, a non political and this should also consists of professionals who can direct the Delhi authority to punish or take action as per our wish.
 
 I think we can dream if such forum soon..

This is a very sad news, and this is happening again and again.
WE must unite and stop this.
For this, I think we the North East Indians need to act smartly instead of reacting emotionally.
 
This is what I propose:
 
Let us investigate the case from our side and let us prepare a protest letter with proper wording to be sent to all the dignitaries in the country to start an official investigation for this incident. Among others, let us send the letter to the PM, The President, Sonia Gandhi, Delhi Mayor etc.
 
Let us form a welfare committee of students and adults of North East Indians (representing all the eight states) in Delhi for support of all students from North east India to report and monitor such cases and act as helping hand to the victims for such cases. The committee can also do other welfare works for the students in Delhi.
 
We have some contacts in Delhi, and let us see what is the common conscience on this and how to approach.

Now I can confirmed  that Delhi is not our land. They do not accept our presence. Why such cases again... despite  so many protests to protect our people?
 
They are reacting as our enemy.. Time will come when we won's and our foot or look at Delhi.
 
We should do something so that those bastards never feel like molesting, cut their parts...which is so itching to hurt our girls.

Police Refused FIR under SC/ST Atrocity Prevention Act

Sexual and Racial Harassment to North East Community once again erupt in Delhi and NCR

New Delhi, December 13, 2008

Sexual and racial harassment to North East communities erupt again Delhi and NCR. Two North East girls were severely beaten by a landlord and his son after molestation on December 12 midnight at Sikandrapur, DLF Phase 1, Gurgaon. One among them seriously injured at leg, hand and face and hospitalized.

The incident happened at 2.30 AM on December 12, 2008 when landlord at drunken state entered the room rented to two girls just two days ago and molested them. The girls informed the North East community leaders of Gurgaon and they rushed to the spot to help them. The landlord and his son assembled the neighbors and severely beaten them.

The matter was reported to local police station and the victim who suffered the most was taken to local hospital. Both of the girls belong to tribal communities of Manipur.

North East Support Centre & Helpline has spoken to Sub-Inspector of Police Mr. Aberaj, who is the in-charge of the case, refused to register the case until the filing of this report. Mr. Aberaj intentionally refused to register the case under the Prevention of SC/ST Atrocity Act 1995. Victim from Hospital bed reports to NE Helpline that, Mr. Aberaj refused to take the SC/ST Atrocity Prevention Act section in written complaint. 

North East Support Centre & Helpline spokes person Mr. Madhu Chandra had to approach Additional Deputy Commission, Gurgaon to look into the matter and he assured that appropriate action will be taken up the landlord and his son.

The sexual and racial harassment to North East communities was reduced after NE Helpline came forward to help the victims but after the gap of 10 months, sexual harassment to North East girls is reported again.

North East Support Centre & Helpline (www.nehelpline. net) is combined initiative of various human rights activists, social workers, students, journalists and lawyers seeking to prevent harassment and abuses meted out to women, North East People and tribal communities of different states.
