I urge all people of Assam, who are interested in nature conservation to
make a plea to World bodies to save the rhino.
It is quite apparent that the GOA, the wildlife protection force in
Kazirange are not in a position to do anything.
The sight of the rhino with blood oozing from her sawn off horn is very
depressing( in today's Assam Tribune ).
I wish the poacher can be caught and his hands severed off.

Below is my email to WWF Australia
Dear Sir/Madam
I wanted to highlight the issue of rampant poaching of one-horned rhinoes in
the NE state of Assam in India.
One horned rhinoes are an endangered species and their numbers are
decreasing. Poaching has rapidly increased in the last year, when more than
20 have been killed by poachers. Already two have been killed this year and
nothing is being done to stop this. The Govt in Assam is a mute spectator to
this mayhem. The forest officials are too old, understaffed and ill-equipped
to deal with this menace.
The sight below is most depressing

I am sending this email to use your good offices to highlight the problem
and wishing that something can be done to save the poor gentle animal from
men's greed.
Thanking You
