It would mean something like 'Maatir-Tora', instead of the star from the sky, C'da - not that I am a good Hindi speaker, but a typical Assamese who knows just to talk in Hindi with a Torkari-Wala or a Rickshwo-wala. Well, I take that back, many in Assam speak good hindi now. :)

It does, C'da. Often time the disease IS NOt diagnosed, especially in the "third-world" countries - not being able to read and write is just being 'gaadha' and no question of looking at the root cause of it.
And as far as I understand, that is the side that they were trying to portray in it, not what dyslexia is! And yes, the point is that people don't get the very obvious point - that the child HAS a problem rather than being just a "gaadha', and is a 'kom mogoj thoka' student.
