For insights, Hannah Riley Bowles and HBS professor Kathleen McGinn review two bodies of literature on gender in negotiationone from psychology and organizational behavior on candidate-employer negotiations, and another from economics and sociology on household bargaining over chores and child care.

In particular, researchers have begun to establish foundations for a theory of institutional entrepreneurship. This paper by Bernard Leca, HBS professor Julie Battilana, and Eva Boxenbaum analyzes existing work, and proposes an ambitious research agenda that calls for a more systematic investigation of institutional entrepreneurship.
