Assurance for British Visa centre in Asom

GUWAHATI,
Sept 4: In view of the inconvenience being faced by the people of the
Northeast, Kevin McCole, Deputy Head of Mission of the Kolkata-based
British Deputy High Commissioner office, has given an assurance to set
up a visa application centre in the State. He said that he would take
up the matter with appropriate authorities.

Currently,
for getting a British visa one has to appear physically before the
Deputy High Commissioner Office at Kolkata, since it is a mandatory
norm, and this system creates much trouble for the business community
of this region, said Sudeep De, a businessman, while interacting with
the British official in a business interactive meet organized by the
