Survey on demography finds Asomiyas a minority

GUWAHATI, Sept 13: The report of a survey on the demography of Asom
conducted by the Intelligence Bureau in 2004 and submitted to the
Centre made a startling revelation that the Asomiya Hindus comprise
only 29.30 per cent of the total population of the State against 30.41
per cent Muslims, 13.19 per cent Bengali Hindus, 05.16 per cent Bodos,
09.58 per cent Tea Tribes, 01.53 per cent Karbis, 01.76 per cent
Nepalis, 01.70 per cent Misings, 02.07 per cent Koch Rajbongshis, 0.35
per cent Dimasas and 04.95 per cent others....more
