Seminar on NE ethnic studies from Feb 15
GUWAHATI, Sept 28 – A two-day international seminar on ethnic studies on North East India, including Tai groups and tribals like Bodo, Mising, Rabha, Deori, Dimacha and other ethnics on North East India, including Bhutan, Sikkim, Nepal along with South East Asia and Southern China will be held on February 15 and 16 next at Silpagram adjacent to the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakhetra here, a press release said.
The seminar has been organised by the Eastern Tai Literary Association Ban OK Pup Lik Mung Tai, which had already organised such international seminars in 1994 and 2006 in Assam. Scholars on other interested persons engaged in North East studies and tribal research may participate of the seminar.
Interested scholars may send their abstracts and papers with a CD copy in times new roman 12 point in A4 size paper to the organisers within October 30. The address for communication is Dr Puspa Gogoi, Convener, Seminar on Ethnic Studies, Dhemaji Tiniali, Dhemaji-787057, District Dhemaji.
Papers can be written on any aspect of history, culture, language, literature, politics related to the ethnics of North East India and other neighbouring countries. The final circular and programmes would be sent to the participants after November 30.
