Since last year US State Deparment invites about ten individual from India involved in Food Processing , Agricultural produce, Nutraceutical ingredients etc. to meet with similar industrial personnel in US. Only owner, executive or the key personnel in the Company is eligible to participate.
State Department is responsible for all the expenses during the stay in US. Normally it will be 7-10days. Participant responsibility is to pay for their air fare till New-York.
During the stay they will meet with people from the industry interested in your products. They will also visit IFT ( Institute of Food Technologist ) convention. It will be held in Anaheim, California June 6th-10Th June. Apart from meeting the industry personnel, the visitor will participate in one of the largest food and ingredient show and the technical paper presentation. This will give an opportunity to meet with different potential buyers. I beleive there will be lot of discussion on recently FDA approved Stevia as natural sweetener. Assam and northeast has potential to grow Stevia. It will have a huge potential in near future. Presenly it is grown in China and South America. There may few North American Companies willing to work with a company from North East to buy back all the stevia and provide assisstance to the cultivation and the final extraction process.
Dr.S.Rizvi is organizing the trip and the selection of participant from India. Anyone meeting the requirement and willing to part of this tour, please send your contact information, the background to Dr.S.Risvi as soon as you can. His e-mail address is ssr at cornell.edu
