Excellent article, C'd, and thanks for fwding it.
Usually, the Republicans are good at politics (and winning elections), and
the Dems are good at governance, bad at politics and good at losing
elections.
But this administration - must hand it to them.
They have proved that things can be done in Washington. The President has
been able to put the country on the right foot, given what he is up against.
The GOP is basically boxed in - with their own ideas and what they have done
for so many years.
Everytime the Republicans tout their 'principles', up comes an example of
how they don't do as they preach. From Govt. spending, pork, and on to
people like Taggert, Larry Craig, Rev. Ted Haggard, Rush, O'Rilley, and Paul
Koering .
This has always been a GOP problem.
Someone said the other day, something like - "The GOP has become a party of
'Don't do what we did, but do, what we think you should do". Basically, they
do not have any lofty examples to showcase.
