Rothin Goswami’s book released

  GUWAHATI,
Feb 25 – Mumbai – Sagar Simonat Roi, a collection of articles on
various topics written in Assamese by Rothindranath Goswami, was
released by renowned filmmaker, Padmashree Jahnu Barua at a function
held at Assam Bhawan, Mumbai recently, a press release said.

Releasing
the book, Barua said that Goswami’s writing has a unique descriptive
style and every paragraph reflects the emotions and spirit of Mumbai. 

During
his speech, Rothindranath Goswami, a geologist with the Oil and Natural
Gas Corporation, Mumbai, announced that the sale proceeds at the book
release function would go to the Deepsikha Cancer Care Foundation. 

Actor
Piku Sarma anchored the function. Leading actor of Balaji Telefilms
Panchi Bora, president of Shreemoyee Mahila Samiti, Bina Saikia,
general secretary of Assam Association, Deepen Rakonwar, renowned
cancer specialist Tapan Saikia and many others graced the occasion. 

Earlier,
Trinayan Handique gave a brief account of Goswami’s literary
contributions and mentioned about his journey during the last 25 years
from the pages of the Assamese children’s magazine Mouchaq to the
present. Debasish Sharma, ACS, and Deputy Resident Commissioner of
Assam Bhawan, Mumbai, also spoke on the occasion.
