Those of us who are vaguely  familiar with the story of Ramayana, 
will find this to be a highly entertaining and informative animation.

Nina Paley is an American. She has produced an extraordinary animated 
film, that is not only a visual
extravaganza but a witty, informative and relevant social commentary 
with Sita Sings the Blues, based on her own personal life experience 
which she effectively compares with that of Sita.

It is a must see!
