[Assam] Bihu in Austin - Pitha Competition

Dear All: 

 

I am sure you all are pretty excited about the upcoming Bihu in Austin on the 11th. 

As usual, we are going to have a Pitha Competition in the morning of the Bihu-day in Austin, again this year. 

 

The 'Baby Bezbaruah Xuworoni Solonto Trophy' will be awarded to the 1st prize winner, and there will be a 2nd, and a 3rd prize also. 
 
If you want to join in the competition, please keep aside 4 to 6 of the snack item/s that you are going to prepare and bring to the Bihu-Toli. 
 
Please give the item/s for the competition to Lonee Baideu or myself. After recieving the item/s for the competition on that day, we will immediately issue you a number for the item, so that the items can be judged anonymously. The judging of the items will be based on their taste (authenticity) and presentation. 
 
Here are two more important points that we wanted to make:
 


Each person may compete with a maximum of two types of snacks (set aside 4/6 units of the item for the competition and give them to one of us as soon as you arrive at the Bihu-Toli in the morning). 
 


They will have to be home-made:), and though the title of the competition is 'Pitha Competition', they do not have to be only Pitha - any kind of authentic Assamese snack (Pitha, Laru, Borphi, Nimki, Khurma.......you name it!) is eligible to join the competition.
