Uttam,

This Net, and even far heavier things can hardly dent my sense of humor (I
am trying to keep that intact, lest I go insane :)), I'm well past that side
of the equation.
You have absolutely no worries from those quarters :-)
>When there is a paradigm diffrerence on the view point; a person holding a
particular view point

to think so.
That is true everywhere, and on both sides of this particular argument.
I don't attempt to convert anyone to anything - political or religious or
otherwise.
>Only if he can proselytise the other to his view point, they can have a
fruitful discussion ending on a

Is that the only way? Proselytizing requires that big word "Faith" to be a
precondition. Nice, solid logic almost, always works for me.
But I find that logic a rarity - specially from those who frequently project
arguments for Assam's sovereignty, armed with little logic, and a whole
lotta passion, rah-rah, and re-written history as the gospel.
No, no you don't have to convince anyone, but you did state
>>**** I do not know about the Naxalites. But successive Indian governments
have ensured that tribals are kept in an archaeological museum, >>by >not
being able to lift them out of 'reservation' after 6(six) decades; in fact,
they are putting more people into that shelter.
So, I was wondering, I've been away for so long from Indian shores, & what
is this new 'reservation' for tribals that has come up?
Yes, I too think that poor folks everywhere in India (not just Nagaland or
Manipur or Mizoram or Assam) have been at the receiving end of a lot lousy
stuff.
But lets not try to shift the blame ONLY to the Center or State Govt. What
about the ULFA? or the Naxalites or the numerous other factions. They start
off as Robin Hoods & heroes of the downtrodden, but later found out it was
much easier to line their own pockets, and simply become hoods.
And the people....well!
In the US there are these street philosophies that go something like "people
deserve the governments they elect" and "Elected governments reflect the
character of the people".
Hopefully, that isn't the case in Assam, the NE or the rest of India.
Once again, if you had a magic wand, what would you do? :-)
